| Page length of the papers will be 12 printed pages each for invited papers, and 6 printed pages each for contributed papers (oral, poster). |
|
| The following guidelines can be used to estimate the approximate length of an article: |
| Text: A journal page with only printed text contains about 750 words. Takes up about 1/3 page (a figure consisiting of several subfigures takes up about 1/2-2/3 page up to 1 page or more) depending of course on the size and details of the figure. |
| Figure: The space taken up by a figure can be estimated by reducing its size to approximately 10 cm and then see if the figure is still legible. If not, the legends to the axes and the lettering should be enlarged. The maximum width of the figure is 16 cm. |
| Table: takes up about 1/3 page (depending of course on the number of entries; 4 entries is equivalent to approximately 3 lines normal text). |
| Equation: A 1-line free-standing equation is equivalent to about 48 words (or approximately 3 lines). |

General guideline is that the symbols and characters should be front size 8 or greater even after a possible reduction. Scale markers should appear on all micrographs. |

| Procedure for paper Submission and Reviewing |
| 1-
Author submits 3 copies of their paper at the conference on March 5-8; one for the organizers administration and the rest for reviewing purposes. The manuscripts should be marked with the reference number in the upper right hand corner. |
| 2- Each manuscript is peer-reviewed. If necessary it is returned to the author for revision. |
| 3- All authors must send corrected, final versions of their papers, with identical electronic copies and original artwork by the deadline given by the organizer. Detailed instructions will be given after review at the MAM 2006 web site. |
| 4- Your final, accepted manuscript will be transferred to Elsevier and you will receive shortly afterwards an acknowledgement letter. |
|
| Please feel free to include multimedia files such as movies and datasets, if relevant. These will be placed alongside the online version of your paper on http://www.sciencedirect.com |
|
| Copyright forms will be sent to authors with their acknowledgement letter once the accepted manuscript has been received at Elsevier. Information on copyright can be found at: http://authors.elsevier.com/journal/mee. |
